Chevrolet Expands 2025 Silverado EV Range and Trim Options

Chevrolet’s 2025 Silverado EV lineup arrives with a sharpened focus on range, capability, and trim diversity, pushing the boundaries of what an electric pickup can deliver. The headline figure is hard to ignore: an EPA-estimated 492 miles on a full charge for the Work Truck Max Range, a number that sets a new benchmark among electric trucks currently on the market.

The Work Truck configuration caters to commercial customers, offering three battery options. The extended range pack delivers 422 miles and starts at $69,495, while the standard range version offers 282 miles at $57,095. The Max Range variant, with its 492-mile capability, starts at $77,795. Chevrolet has added a new Slate Gray exterior color to the Work Truck palette, and later in the model year, fleet and retail buyers will see the standard range WT with up to 8,500 pounds of towing capacity and 2,350 pounds of payload.

For 2025, the LT trim joins the Silverado EV family for the first time. Positioned to qualify for federal tax credits, the LT brings a blend of performance and comfort. Standard equipment includes 300 kW DC public fast charging capability, 18-inch aluminum wheels, and a distinctive lower front fascia paired with illuminated front bowtie badging. Inside, drivers get a 17.7-inch center infotainment display alongside an 11-inch driver information screen. Under Wide Open Watts mode, the LT produces up to 765 lb-ft of torque and 645 horsepower, enabling serious towing—12,500 pounds—and a payload capacity of 1,800 pounds. With the extended range battery, the LT offers 408 miles of range.

The LT Premium Package, arriving later in the model year, adds features aimed at versatility and driver assistance. The Multi-Flex Midgate, combined with the Multi-Flex Tailgate, creates a load floor stretching 10 feet 10 inches. Super Cruise, GM’s hands-free driver assistance system capable of hands-free trailering, will be active on roughly 750,000 miles of roads in the U.S. and Canada by the end of 2025. The package also includes 22-inch machined-face aluminum wheels, with range rated at 390 miles.

At the top end, the Silverado EV RST offers two battery configurations. The extended range version delivers 390 miles, while the Max Range variant reaches a GM-estimated 460 miles. The RST also introduces Sidewinder as standard—a four-wheel steering mode that allows all wheels to turn in the same direction, moving the truck diagonally at speeds up to 20 mph. Controlled via the infotainment screen, Sidewinder enhances maneuverability in tight spaces and on challenging terrain. Six exterior colors are available, including the trim-exclusive Zephyr Blue Matte Metallic.

All Silverado EV models ride on GM’s Ultium battery architecture, with dual-motor all-wheel drive setups. Output varies by trim, from 510 horsepower in certain Work Truck versions to 760 horsepower in the RST 3SP configuration. Torque peaks at 785 lb-ft in the RST, supported by adaptive air ride suspension in that trim, while LT and WT models use four-wheel independent suspension tuned for premium ride and handling.

Charging performance is a key part of the Silverado EV’s appeal. DC fast charging up to 350 kW can add a GM-estimated 100 miles in just 10 minutes, while Level 2 charging at 19.2 kW can provide 34 miles per hour. The trucks are assembled at GM’s Factory ZERO Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center in Michigan, a facility central to the company’s multi-brand all-EV strategy.

GM underscores its commitment to an all-electric future across Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC, combining advanced technology with a push for lower emissions. The Silverado EV’s expanded range options, new LT trim, and innovative features like Sidewinder and Super Cruise position it as a versatile tool for both work and recreation, built on engineering that blends high output, long-distance capability, and practical utility.
