Kia EV3’s $29,890 Price Becomes $31,385 Delivered Without Federal Credit
The 2027 Kia EV3 arrives with a sub-$30,000 headline price, but that is not the minimum amount a buyer will face. Kia America’s confirmed pricing sets the Light front-wheel-drive model at $29,890, then adds a mandatory $1,495 destination charge. That produces a minimum delivered starting price of $31,385 before taxes, registration, options and dealer charges.

There is also no federal clean-vehicle purchase credit available to bring that figure back down. The former credit of as much as $7,500 ended for vehicles acquired after September 30, 2025. State and local programs may still vary, but the federal purchase incentive will not apply when EV3 sales begin in late 2026.
Seven configurations create a wide price and range spread
Kia announced seven configurations across five trims. Prices before destination are $29,890 for the Light FWD, $34,990 for the Wind FWD, $38,690 for the Wind AWD, $38,490 for the Land FWD, $41,690 for the Land AWD, $43,490 for the GT-Line AWD and $45,890 for the GT AWD. Adding the same $1,495 destination charge puts their delivered starting prices between $31,385 and $47,385, before other charges.
The least expensive model carries the clearest range compromise. The Light combines a 58.3-kWh battery with 221 miles of EPA-estimated range. Wind FWD and Land FWD models receive an 81.4-kWh battery and reach the lineup’s maximum rating of 321 miles. The listed all-wheel-drive configurations are rated at 280 miles.
That makes the Wind FWD the first step into the larger battery and 321-mile range, at $36,485 including destination. Land FWD provides the same stated battery capacity and range at a higher equipment level, starting at $39,985 delivered. Buyers considering all-wheel drive trade some rated range for added traction and output: applicable AWD configurations increase combined power from 201 to 261 horsepower.
The GT sits apart from that efficiency-focused comparison. It produces 288 horsepower and has an estimated zero-to-60-mph time of 5.4 seconds, but its $47,385 delivered starting price places it nearly $16,000 above the Light. The EV3 therefore spans two different assignments: relatively low-cost electric transportation at the bottom and a quicker, more heavily equipped small SUV at the top.
A lower-cost electrical platform brings a charging tradeoff
The EV3 uses a 400-volt electrical architecture with an approximately 128-kW peak DC fast-charging rate. Kia advertises a 10%-to-80% charging time of 29 minutes for the Light and 31 minutes for the larger-battery configurations under specified conditions. Actual time will depend on charger output, battery temperature, weather, battery age and other operating factors.
This is an important boundary on the EV3’s value proposition. The platform can support practical road-trip charging, but it does not pursue the higher charging performance associated with Kia’s 800-volt EV6 architecture. A 400-volt system can reduce some component and integration costs, helping Kia reach a lower base MSRP, while asking owners to accept longer high-power charging stops than Kia’s faster-charging platform can deliver.
Every EV3 does include a native North American Charging System port, eliminating the need for an adapter at compatible connectors. A standard battery heater addresses cold-weather charging preparation, while Vehicle-to-Load capability can supply up to 3.6 kW for compatible external equipment. Those features give even the base trim useful electrical functionality beyond propulsion.
The policy change affects access, not just advertising
The expired federal credit changes the practical affordability calculation across the range. Under the former program, eligibility could reduce a qualifying vehicle’s effective purchase cost by as much as $7,500. For the EV3, buyers must evaluate the full delivered price without that federal offset, regardless of trim. That distinction matters most at the lower end, where the difference between a $29,890 advertised MSRP and a $31,385 delivered starting point is already visible before taxes or dealer-added costs.
Kia has not announced a specific dealer-order date or published a battery-cell supplier breakdown for every trim. Those unresolved details should not be used to infer sourcing or future incentive eligibility. For now, the confirmed equation is straightforward: the least expensive EV3 costs $31,385 delivered, while reaching the 321-mile rating requires at least the $36,485 Wind FWD.
