2027 Corvette Z06 Price Falls A$36,010 With V8 Unchanged

Chevrolet has cut the Australian entry price of the 2027 Corvette Z06 by A$36,010 without reducing its stated engine output. Order books are open for the build-to-order Z06 3LZ Coupe at A$299,990 before on-road costs, down from A$336,000. Chevrolet’s Australian Z06 page lists the updated model and its core specifications.

The reduction leaves an unusually narrow gap within the Corvette range. The Z06 now costs only A$7,000 more than the electrified E-Ray 3LZ Coupe, which remains at A$292,990 before on-road costs. The Stingray range begins much lower, at A$193,990. Those figures reposition the Z06 without changing its role as the naturally aspirated, track-focused member of the Australian lineup.

Same engine, substantially lower entry price

The Z06 retains its hand-assembled 5.5-litre LT6 V8, producing 475kW and 595Nm without turbocharging, supercharging or electric assistance. A flat-plane crankshaft differentiates its architecture from the cross-plane V8 used by the Stingray and E-Ray. Power continues to pass through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission to the rear wheels.

That continuity matters because the price reduction has not been accompanied by a disclosed downgrade to the central powertrain or chassis specification. The Z06 retains forged aluminium wheels, six-piston front Brembo brakes, Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 adaptive damping and an electronic limited-slip differential. These components address acceleration, braking, wheel control and power delivery as an integrated performance system rather than relying on engine output alone.

The comparison with the E-Ray is more complex than their A$7,000 price difference suggests. The E-Ray combines a 6.2-litre V8 with an electric motor driving the front axle, giving it an electrified all-wheel-drive layout. The Z06 instead concentrates on a high-revving naturally aspirated engine and rear-wheel drive. Their near-overlapping prices therefore bring two distinct engineering approaches into much closer commercial proximity rather than making the cars mechanically interchangeable.

Cabin changes move the Z06 toward software-defined controls

Most of the visible model-year changes are inside. The redesigned cockpit uses three displays: a 14.0-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.7-inch central infotainment touchscreen and a new 6.6-inch auxiliary touchscreen. Chevrolet has also relocated the drive-mode selector and provided more direct access to Performance Traction Management functions.

The three-screen arrangement gives the vehicle more space to separate driving information, infotainment and secondary controls. It also increases the importance of interface layout and software consistency: adding display area is useful only if frequently needed functions remain easy to identify and operate without excessive driver attention.

Connectivity expands through additional USB-C provision, wireless phone charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Chevrolet connected services and built-in compatibility with Google Maps, Gemini and the Play Store. Over-the-air update support gives Chevrolet a way to deliver compatible software enhancements without requiring every change to be installed during a workshop visit, although no specific future update schedule has been announced.

The Performance Data Recorder has also been enhanced, while the broader Performance App can present vehicle data across the displays. These additions do not increase the LT6 engine’s 475kW output, but they change how drivers access settings and review vehicle information. In systems terms, the 2027 update places more of the cabin experience in software while leaving the defining mechanical package intact.

Chevrolet continues to offer the optional Z07 Performance package for customers seeking additional track-focused aerodynamic, braking, tyre and suspension equipment. Carbon-fibre aerodynamic parts, carbon-ceramic brakes and alternative wheel, roof and appearance treatments are also available, but they sit beyond the A$299,990 starting price.

Production is scheduled to begin at General Motors’ Bowling Green plant in the United States in January 2027. Australian delivery timing will depend on production scheduling and each customer’s specification. That build-to-order structure adds variability to arrival dates, but the central change is already defined: the Z06 enters the 2027 model year A$36,010 cheaper, with its 475kW naturally aspirated V8 and principal performance hardware preserved.
